Sustainability in Plan1Health

Environmental sustainability ideas and projects in Polymed Group – Plan1Health

The Polymed-Plan1Health Group is committed to developing a circular economy and designing sustainable development through the active involvement of the communities within which it operates. From reducing the environmental impacts of activities within the value chain to protecting resources and biodiversity and combating climate change.

The Polymed-Plan1Health Group recently confirmed its commitment to nullify the emissions of its international brands through reduction and offsetting actions that cover not only individual references, but the entire range, in the entire production cycle along the entire supply chain, which includes packaging, logistics, factories, and the protection of natural capital.

Sustainable logistics for the Group’s products is made possible by investing in less polluting transportation such as sea transport, in fact more than 60 percent of products travel by ship.

Regarding packaging, the Polymed-Plan1Health Group at its plants uses 100 percent recyclable or reusable packaging and is committed to seeking further improvements.

The Group has put in place strict policies to reduce disposals and accuracy of recycling possibilities: we ship to sorted disposal and recovery at all factories worldwide: electronic parts, paper, cardboard, metal, plastics and glass are sent to recycling centers.

Our molds are designed to generate minimal plastic waste, while production process control is done with “paper-less” systems, and even technical drawings are all done electronically to avoid paper waste.

Our factories around the world are designed to avoid unnecessary transportation, and the internal logistics of our plants are designed to reduce emissions and optimize efficiencies.

Solar Energy

We use solar energy in some of the Group’s factories, and we plan to extend this technology gradually to other plants in the Group.

Water conservation

Our focus is on water recovery and conservation, reduction of water consumption with water-efficient plants. In some of the Group’s plants we make use of water treatment and reuse facilities.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We see the issue of “inequality” as a problem of humanity today.

We have been running a CSR program (externally certified) for years to provide concrete aid for reducing inequality: aid to disadvantaged communities, education development, aid for reducing gender inequality, health supports, natural disaster supports, and actions for improving the living conditions of the disabled.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility touches thousands of lives every day where women are the largest group of beneficiaries, a gender group representing 46 percent of our employees.

Polymed-Plan1Health Group believes in the principle that a more “equal” world is a better world.

Each year we conduct an assessment to ensure that CSR goals are targeted to social areas where inequality challenges are the most relevant and urgent where more needs to be done.
